With 2022 in the rearview mirror, take a quick peek at our "Year in Review" and the many community initiatives both KSKJ Life members and staff participated in to make an impact. KSKJ Life looks forward to a fresh new year ahead, full of hope and possibilities!
KSKJ LIFE MEMBER HAPPENINGS
Holiday merriment from around the U.S.!
Members across the country got in the festive holiday spirit with Santa visits, presents, smiles, and more! The Christmas cheer was extra special by helping to make the holidays a bit brighter for others. Members collected items for local food pantries, bought presents for those in need, as well as made donations to our annual national initiative Supporting Soldiers. We love seeing our extended family gathering together, carrying on the KSKJ Life mission, and enjoying the holidays together.
SUPPORTING SOLDIERS
Last chance to donate to deserving veterans in need!
January 11th will be the last day to support the KSKJ Life annual national initiative, Supporting Soldiers. In partnership with the Bob Woodruff Foundation, your donation will go to vets in need who may be struggling with things like food insecurity, mental health, housing, or employment.
Last year, our generous members donated over $14,000 to this campaign, and we would love to surpass that this year. These brave men and women have served and protected to keep the freedoms of this country for all of us. Start off the new year by giving to those that gave so much for you!
KSKJ Life is proud to continue to honor our mission of community outreach and charitable giving. Your donation is tax-deductible and KSKJ Life will match up to $5000.
What new things will you explore in your retirement?
Our KSKJ Life annuity rates are elevated for a limited time.
Take advantage and start exploring the opportunities that await you!
With retirement, comes excitement for endless possibilities to explore out of your comfort zone. What will your retirement look like? Will you learn a cooking skill or spend time volunteering in your community? Take a cruise or explore new lands?
According to retirement coach and co-author, Dorian Mintzer, Ph. D., “The happiest retirees embrace the range of possibilities and new beginnings in store for them.” It’s important to keep in mind that not only is the amount of your nest egg important, but so is keeping an open mind to experiment with new adventures or paths. The more open-minded you are to let in the new, the happier you could be.
You can begin the process by realistically mapping out what you can afford to live on. To help maximize your retirement, KSKJ Life’s 5-year Window Annuity now has a new higher rate for a limited time. It offers a guaranteed rate of 3.25% APY for the first year and the ability to withdraw funds after the first year without penalty.
While you start to think about the many directions you might head after you hang up your work hat, help assure you get the most out of your money and take advantage of the higher rate while it lasts. Have you thought about what the carefree days of retirement look like? It's a time of exploration, filled with possibilities to find what fills you up. As the population in the U.S. is living longer, you could be working longer if you choose to or need to, or you could decide to go ahead and turn in your work key sooner. No matter when you reach that milestone, having both a plan in place to get you there and keep you there, is vital. Considering a KSKJ Life annuity to supplement your retirement fund could be a valuable option to create and keep future income in your piggy bank and available when you are. New year, new ears- don't let hearing go unchecked!
As you gathered for the holidays, you may have spent time with loved ones or friends you might not see every day. One of our member benefit partners, Start Hearing, recently shared some helpful information on changes in hearing that could signal a need to investigate possible advancing hearing loss. They suggested being aware of little things. Maybe you noticed a change in a family member's hearing or even your own, such as a louder tv or having to repeat what was said more often. If so, remember these two key ways to help:
1) Do not stigmatize the issue 2) Address it with gentleness and respect
The loss of hearing is a loss of connection to others and is a troubling new difficulty for anyone experiencing it. Your KSKJ Life Start Hearing member benefit offers a free online hearing test and can help you find prescription or over-the-counter hearing aids. Find and schedule an appointment from over 3,000 providers right from your computer or smartphone.

Hellos and Goodbyes
The first weekend in December was a bittersweet and exciting time for KSKJ Life. We honored two retiring board members, Rudolph Krasovec and Robert J. Lokar Jr., and recognized them for their many years of loyal service. Official appointments were also made for our Board of Directors leadership for 2023 and 2024.
Martin Luther King Jr. was an advocate for peace and civil rights and was a light in this world. We take today to honor his legacy and commemorate his life work for racial equality and non-violence. Use today to be a spreader of kindness and love to everyone you encounter.
“Out of the mountain of despair, a stone of hope.”
"Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that."
-Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
