“Don’t wait to get life insurance. Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed.”
-M'Linda Draughn
M'LINDA'S STORY
A lifetime. Seems like forever, right? Maybe you’re just beginning a life together with someone. Maybe you’re in the middle of the mad dash of life running from school to practices and everything in between. Or maybe you are new to the empty nester scene or retired and kicking back. Life is full of maybe’s and if you have ever thought “maybe I should get life insurance, but I’ll get to that later” or “maybe I’ll do it tomorrow”—then maybe think about this. Life provides an endless supply of twists and turns and can bring about unexpected moments that could significantly alter yours and your family’s path. Sometimes the best laid plans go awry even though it was never a part of the plan. The Draughn’s “that-would-never-happen-to-me” happened. M’Linda lost her 33-year-old husband, Kenneth, when their daughter was only four. Unable to afford rent and living paycheck-to-paycheck, the mother and daughter were forced to move homes as M’Linda faced financial hardship as a new single parent. She and Kenneth had only talked about life insurance. It was on their TO-DO list, and they thought they had time, but they never followed through.
Life offers no guarantees. Whatever stage of life you are in, life insurance is protection for your family and loved ones and not just a luxury item. If you have saved life insurance to your maybe list, make your maybe NOW. To see how KSKJ Life can help or to learn more about Life Insurance click a button below!

Find out what a few of our 2021/2022 grant recipients are planning for their future!
Teresa A. from New York, NY:
I am in the midst of applying to colleges for a biomedical engineering and/or biology undergraduate degree, and my long-term career plans are to become a neurosurgeon.
Abigail M. from Nicholasville, KY:
At this point my goal is to study engineering in college. It is a field that is underrepresented by women, and I would like to do my part to pioneer and inspire more girls to enter into. I don't know the specific area of engineering I'm going to focus on yet, but I know that whatever path I take I can use my skills and abilities to improve the lives of those around me.
Blaise L. from Burlington, VT:
My career plans are to be a doctor. That road is long, and the career will not start for a while. This I know: after graduation, I am going to take a gap year and study for the MCAT and start applying for medical school. I see myself working in care facilities during that time, once again serving others. I want to have experiences that shall help me understand people in a fuller way. I may even work on nursing qualifications. Being a good nurse will help me be a great doctor.
Michael S. from Novelty, OH:
After college, I plan to go into finance and work in investment banking. I am currently interviewing for internship positions in New York and Chicago with the hopes that an internship will lead to a full-time offer.
It’s almost time to hit the trail!
