Empowering Futures: How the KSKJ Life Educational Grant Program Shapes Our Community

For generations, KSKJ Life has been a cornerstone of support for its members, fostering brighter futures through programs that support education. Since the 1950s, the KSKJ Life Scholarship Program - now an Educational Grant Program - has enabled countless students to pursue their dreams without additional financial strain. In the last nine years alone, KSKJ Life has awarded $639,000 in educational grants, benefiting high school and college students in various fields. 

Elliot, for example, is a passionate student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with dreams of becoming a filmmaker. Faced with the challenge of affording the tools and education necessary to turn his passion into a profession, Elliot found relief through the KSKJ Life Educational Grant Program. This support allowed him to focus on his studies and invest in the equipment he needed. As Elliot shared, "This grant will help me pursue a new advanced level of education, aiding me in my journey as I make my way to becoming a filmmaker." His story is just one of many that highlight the profound impact of our program.

Veronika’s journey, on the other hand, is a story of resilience and the unwavering value of life insurance, even in challenging circumstances. Growing up in a single-income family, Veronika faced unique difficulties. Despite these financial constraints, Veronika’s family prioritized maintaining her life insurance policy, understanding the security and peace of mind it provided.

As Veronika progressed through high school, the cost of college remained a significant concern. The KSKJ Life Educational Grant offered some financial relief, allowing Veronika to focus on her studies. The grant not only eased her financial burden, but this member benefit was made available because her family made an important decision of purchasing her a life insurance policy when she was a child.

KSKJ Life member Carter, a student at The College of St. Scholastica, has a deep connection to his community which drives his ambitions. Carter is determined to give back to the place that shaped him, believing in the power of community and the importance of repaying the support he received during his formative years.

As we open the 2024 application enrollment period for the KSKJ Life Educational Grant Program, we are reminded of the impact this program has on our young adult members and our communities. If you or someone you know is eligible, we encourage you to apply for this year’s grant.
